“Loud, festive Bavarian beer hall”

Bavarian Bierhaus is a Munich-style beer hall at Opry Mills, opened by a Nashville-born Army veteran who fell for Bavaria while stationed there, and it bills itself as locally and veteran owned. Long tables, liter steins of German lager, giant pretzels with bier cheese, schnitzels (including a Nashville hot chicken schnitzel) and brat platters set the tone, with live German music and a big Oktoberfest run each fall.

Happy hour is Monday to Friday from 2 to 5 PM with $2 off beer, wine and cocktails in the bar. The weekday specials are worth planning around: $4 off the Biergarten Burger on Mondays, schnitzel on Tuesdays, a brat on a bun on Wednesdays and fish and chips on Fridays, plus a $10 liter of Bierhaus Lager on Thursdays.
