Calacas is a sit-down modern Mexican restaurant on Korean Veterans Blvd, across from Music City Center and steps from The Joseph hotel. The kitchen presses its own corn tortillas for pork belly tacos with guava glaze, al pastor and beer-battered halibut, and plates like chile relleno, chingon carnitas and flat iron carne asada, with a tequila and mezcal list behind the bar. Happy hour is at the bar and high tops Sunday through Friday, 4 to 5:30 PM: $5 carnitas or fish tacos, $8 empanadas, $9 margaritas and $5 Superior lager.
