Famous Friends is Chris Young's sports bar on the Demonbreun strip, named after his song. The pitch: no stage, no cover, game sound on. It is a room of about ninety seats with memorabilia on the walls and every screen pointed at the game, which makes it the odd one out on a block built around live music.
It bills itself as the official Cowboys gameday bar, shows all NFL games in the fall and goes wall to wall on Saturdays for Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma State. The kitchen keeps it simple: a $13 house burger, wings by the 6, 10 or 20, corn dogs and fried banana peppers. Weekday happy hour, 3 to 7 PM, brings $10 specialty cocktails, $5 wells and $4 select domestics. All ages until 9 PM, 21 and up after.
