Present Tense is an izakaya-style restaurant and natural wine bar on Houston St, across from Soho House and Pastis, with a 14-seat chef's counter and a few tables. The kitchen cooks Japanese technique through a French and Italian lens, leaning on seasonal produce and fermentation.

The drinks list is natural wine, junmai sake and a short cocktail menu, and a pair of Technics turntables spin vinyl every night. There is a short 4–5:30 PM happy hour before dinner service; dinner runs Thursday to Saturday until 11 PM and Sunday until 9 PM.
