The Local’s Take

“Roomy, friendly neighborhood bar with a stage”

The Lucky Nut opened in 2025 on Gallatin Pike North in Madison, in the old Smeraldo's Italian restaurant building. It's a full bar with a long draft list, bourbons and cocktails, and $5 domestic bottles and cans. Most nights have something on: trivia, karaoke and live sets of originals and covers.

There's no kitchen. A Mexican food truck parked on site brings orders to the bar, and outside food is allowed. Happy hour is 5 to 8 PM on weekdays and noon to 3 PM on Saturdays, and parking is free. In football season the TVs carry college football every Saturday and every NFL game on Sundays.
