Verna lives in the old house on Louise Avenue that longtime Nashvillians remember as Cafe Coco. Mornings it is a coffee and breakfast cafe (lattes, matcha, an andouille sausage egg and cheese), and Thursday to Monday nights it turns into The Bar at Verna, an amaro-focused cocktail bar with a string-lit patio and late-night food until 10:30 PM.

Around back is The Backbar, a darker, louder, rum-leaning neighborhood bar with trivia on Thursdays and open mic comedy on Sundays. Both bars run happy hour 5 to 7 PM: $10 house classics and $7 N/A cocktails at the front bar, $8 classics and $7 wine at the Backbar, and $3 Montucky at both. On Mondays the Backbar's happy hour runs all day.
