AVO is the all-plant-based restaurant under the Element Hotel at One C1ty, just off Charlotte Ave at 28th. The kitchen rebuilds comfort food from plants: lentil walnut burgers, cauliflower wings in buffalo or gochujang, nachos with cauliflower-walnut chorizo and coconut queso, and most of the menu is gluten-free.
There is a full bar known for the frozen avocado margarita, plus organic wines and local beer. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 6 PM, and weekend brunch is Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 3 PM, with $9 mimosas, chilaquiles and tofu katsu biscuit sandwiches.
