Chateau West is a French restaurant on West End Ave near the I-440 interchange, cooking the classics: escargot, French onion soup, coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, duck Chambord and a tableside Chateaubriand for two. It is a calm, white-tablecloth room that works for a date or a family celebration.

Sundays bring a brunch menu with French touches: eggs Sardou with artichoke, spinach and mornay ($16), a Chateau Benedict with smoked ham ($18), a seafood omelet with scallops and shrimp ($20), steak and eggs with filet medallions ($25) and a $19 boeuf bourguignon.
